Patterson Scientific Price Changes 2008
Patterson Scientific, a division of Camlab Ltd announced on the 28th, April 2008, that effective from May 6th, 2008 it will implement a 4% price increase, across the board, to address continued dramatic increases in raw material, energy and transportation costs. Ben Sunderland, Managing Director made the advance announcement in a letter to customers in light of un-forecasted and continued upward movement in the costs of oil based products; fuel and other raw materials combined with unfavourable movements in exchange rates. “We have reached a point we must look to pass on some of these increased operating and manufacturing costs into the market place”. The depreciation of sterling and continued fragility of the current UK economic climate has not yet stabilised and we must take steps to reflect this in our pricing structure to cover these costs for the rest of 2008”. He added “We intend to continue to provide the best possible value for money by looking after our customers for the lifetime of their products to ensure they receive maximum return on their investment for years to come”.
Pattersons has benefitted from its inclusion in the Camlab Group over the last five months with the addition of a new logistics system which has improved stockholding and added state of the art on-line ordering capabilities. With the combination of Camlabs products and Service department they can also offer a wider choice of products, efficient customer support and superior technical services.
